I fell into the notion that our 20’s is the most transformational decade in our lives. Maybe it was from listening to a TED talk by Meg Jay or something I read in a blog from my peers. Either way, I truly believed this. It’s the decade where we are supposed figure stuff out. Like what career we want to pursue and how to develop healthy relationships with friends, family, and our significant other. What motivates us to wake up early and get out of bed to testing our moral code and outlook on life. It’s a beautiful struggle and I embraced every moment of it.
I’m 36 now and as I look back on my 20’s I feel like I’ve made the best of it. I’ve had over a dozen jobs from cleaning a butcher shop (yeah, gross) to promoting international trade. From supervising the overnight shift at a rowdy downtown hotel to becoming a jack-of-all-trades (admin assistant, accountant, ad creator, web designer, and photographer) for a small nonprofit. Through all these experiences I figured out what I’m passionate about: making a positive impact for those less fortunate and to be a medium to share their story. Luckily, over the years I have developed a knack for all sorts of marketing, a keen eye for creating digital media, and a seriously hardcore work ethic to get the job done.
As a creative professional I’m fortunate to have a full-time gig doing the work I love with people that are just as passionate as me. Plus, working for a travel company has its perks as it has encouraged me to explore the world and travel out of my comfort zone. Though ultimately, having a stable income has enabled me to truly devote time and effort into helping friends kickstart their ideas into action with a simple promo video or revamp their existing business with a new engaging website.
Browse through my site to view some of the stuff I’ve done along with projects I’m currently working on. If you’re based in the Pacific Northwest and would like help marketing your business then please feel free to reach out. Maybe we’ll get a chance to work together.
Cheers,
David Cuerpo
